New

Common name in Germany (also Neuer Wein, Nuier) for a partially fermented grape must. The name is confusing because it is a wine that is not yet fully fermented. See also under Federweißer and similar wines under Most. In Austria, this is a wine-legal designation (also Der Neue); see under Primus.
