The winery is located in the municipality of Nuits-Saint-Georges in the French Burgundy. It was founded in 2014 by Nicolas Morin, who runs it as Négociant eleveur. The 18th century building has been renovated. It does not have its own vineyard, but the grapes are purchased from contract winegrowers with a total of six hectares of vines. These are the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Syrah, Grenache Noir(Garnacha Tinta) and Mourvèdre(Monastrell), as well as the white wine varieties Chardonnay, Aligoté and Pinot Blanc..
The vinification is carried out in a gentle way, using gravity and avoiding pumping. During the maceration of the red wines, overpumping (délestage and pigeage) supports the extraction. Sulphurization is carried out in an extremely restrictive manner. The bottling or the closure is carried out with inert gas. The product range includes the AOC wines Bourgogne Aligoté (white), Bourgogne Pinot Noir (red), Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits (white), Marsannay (red), Meursault (white), Monthélie (white and red) and Nuits-Saint-Georges (white and red), some Vin de France wines and Pét Nats (rustic sparkling wines).
The premium wines of the house are Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Les Terres Blanches (aged 18 months in demi-muid barrels), Monthélie Premier Cru Les Riottes (aged 17 months in 40% new barriques) and Vin de France Integraal Mourvèdre (fermentation in barriques, aged in demi-muid barrels). Around 20,000 bottles of wine are produced annually, 75% of which are exported to England, Singapore and Japan.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
