The alcohol content of beverages of all kinds must only be indicated on the label from 1.2% vol. Beer or wine with less than 0.5% or 4 g/l alcohol may be described as "alcohol-free". This state can only be achieved by reducing the alcohol. Alcohol-free or low-alcohol drinks are also called NoLo (no and low alcohol). A special form was Near Beer (meaning "almost like beer") produced during the American Prohibition from 1920 to 1933. See also under low alcohol and a list of all alcoholic beverages under alcoholic beverages.
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
