Nonnenberg

Single location in the municipality Rauenthal in the German growing area Rheingau, The name derives from the former nunnery Tiefenthal, under whose ownership the mountain was cleared. The south to southwest aligned vineyard in 110 to 180 meters above sea level with 30 to 55% slope covers nearly six hectares of vineyards. The deep, stony and mostly lime-free soil consists of weathered phyllite schist with quartzites and loess loam. Here is especially Riesling and some Pinot Noir Pinot Noir ) grown. The location is the sole property of the winery Breuer Georg, Other individual layers named Nonnenberg are also available in the communities Beckstein, Lauda (Baden), Steinbach (Franconia), Strümpfelbach (Württemberg) and Wehlen (Moselle).
