The Greek winery in the municipality of Selinous near Corinth in the east of the island Peloponnese
was founded in 1989 by Bordeaux graduate Anghelos Rouvalis. The first wine was produced a year later. In 1994 a new winery was opened. The oenologist Yannis Karabatsos has also been working at the winery since this year. The vineyards are located near the coast at an altitude of 500 and 850 meters above the Corinthian Gulf. The varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Lagorthi, Merlot, Riesling, Roditis, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah and Volitsa are cultivated. The winery is considered one of the pioneers of modern wine style in Greece. After extensive terroir research, the autochthonous vine roditis is particularly popular. The flagship is the white wine "Asprolithi", which is made from the same-named variety. Around 180,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
