Colloquial term for wines mostly simple quality, which is often not in bottles bottled but larger ones containers (Barrels or tanks) filled into smaller containers and served from there into the glass. That is why the name is synonymous bulk wine common. In Germany is also "Pokalwein", in Austria "open" in use. In Italy, the "Vino sciolto" traditionally in the Damigiana (Balloon bottle) bottled. In French there are the terms "en vrac" (bulk or loose), "au verre" (glass-wise) or "au pichet" (in a pitcher); as well as in English "bulk-wine". In many restaurants, it has become common practice to serve the best wine from Bouteillen also by the glass (open). An open wine is therefore increasingly no longer necessarily a simple wine.
