The wine production company Caves Orsat SA with headquarters in Martigny in the Swiss canton Wallis
was founded by Alphonse Orsat in 1874. It remained a family business until 1932, when it was converted into an AG. In 1998 the family's share capital became Rouvinez
adopted, but an independent appearance was maintained. The own vineyards cover 30 hectares with, for example, the famous domain Clos Montibeux. Furthermore, grapes become round. 1,800 contract winemakers with a total area of 318 hectares purchased. Every year around four million liters of wine are produced from 16 different grape varieties. There are five different product lines. The flagship is "Primus Classicus", these wines come exclusively from their own vineyards. These are, for example, Chardonnay, Cornalin du Valais, Ermitage (Marsanne), Fendant
(Chasselas), Johannisberg (Silvaner), Malvasia (Pinot Gris), Petite Arvine, Pinot Noir and Syrah. The flagship of the house is the red wine cuvée "Romulus" in Bordeaux style (over 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, with parts of Merlot and Petit Verdot).
