Orwigsburg

The red variety (also Black Palestine or Schuykill) is an interspecific new breed between unknown varieties of the American species Vitis labrusca and the European Vitis vinifera, The name was assigned to the city in Pennsylvania. The intersection of hybrid took place in the USA by the breeder WE Hulings at the beginning of the 19th century. It was mentioned in 1830 by RW Prince in the documentary Treatise on the Vine. The variety is grown in the US state of New York.
