Panicle

Botanical term for the inflorescence (glory) of the vine, in which there are several superimposed and branched lateral axes with the stalked flowers on a main axis (the inflorescence is not strictly speaking a bunch of grapes, as such a bunch only has side stems without branches). The stem framework is called the comb or centaury. See also under Flower and Grape.
