The producer community from the wine-growing region Lake Neusiedl
in the winegrowing region Burgenland
(Austria) was founded in 1998. Originally there were 44 winemakers of the community Gols
, In the meantime, it has now reduced to a "hard core" of seven winemakers, which has grown into one of the largest winegrowing enterprises in Burgenland. These are Harald Lehner (CEO), Hans Achs, Stephanie Achs, Christian Burda, Raimund Burda, Matthias Meixner and Hans Weis. The combination of expertise of the individual winemakers and the merger of the cellar technology were also in the foreground. The trend-setting idea was and is to create a high-quality wine brand that represents the Golser wine as a whole and thus combines all grape varieties and types of wine together. The wines are marketed under the label "Golser Wein". The main grape varieties are Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch
, Bouvier, Chardonnay, Grüner Veltliner, Neuburger, Pinot Blanc. Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir.
The five wine series Classic, Exclusiv, Lagenweine, Hofrat (Cuvées Red) and Edelsüß (Auslese, Ausbruch, Trockenbeerenauslese, Eiswein) are produced. Most of the wines are matured in a pure variety. With the quality certification "IFS 4, Higher Level", the entire production process can be tracked at any time. In 2007, just before the tenth anniversary, the new wine line "Gaudium Vinum Galos" was created, in which the winemakers brought their experience on complex relationships between climate, soil and variety. The name means free translated "fun on Golser wine" and stands for the joy of wine making. A maximum of seven different wines are included in the assortment per vintage. All wines come from top locations in and around Gols. Of these wines, only a limited number of bottles are produced and each is numbered.
