Panzaun

Riede (site) in the municipality of Langenlois in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Kamptal. The name originated from "Bonzaun", which denoted a fenced-in plot of land on which the lordship had placed a prohibition on entering (Bann). It is divided into the sub-areas "Alter Panzaun" and "Oberer Panzaun". The south-facing vineyard slopes consist of deep clay soils. The two varieties Grüner Veltliner and Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc) are mainly cultivated here. The Ehn Ludwig and Sax Rudolf wineries, for example, have shares in the vineyard.
