Pardina

The white grape variety (also Pirovano 130) is a new cross between Citronelle x Black Monukka, which was determined by DNA analyses carried out in 2013. The cross was made in Rome in 1923 by the breeder Alberto Piròvano (1884-1973); in the breeding list, the parentage Sciamblese x Sultanina Nera (Black Monukka) appears erroneously. It must not be confused with the varieties Albillo Mayor or Cayetana Blanca (both with synonym Pardina). The vine is used as a winepress and table grape. However, no stock was recorded in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
