Parreira Matias

The red grape variety comes from Portugal. Synonyms are Parreira Mathias and Parrilha. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2020, it is probably a natural cross between Alfrocheiro x Airén. However, this is based on only 21 DNA markers (see molecular genetics). The variety is grown in very small quantities in the Ribatejo region. In 2016 a scarce hectare was designated (statistics Kym Anderson).

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
