The red grape variety comes from Italy. Synonyms are Fogarina di Gualtieri, Fugarina, Gogarina di Gualtieri, Passetta, Uva di Gualtieri and Uva Fogarina. It must not be confused with the variety Uva Fogarina (ex Wine Grapes; there is no separate Uva Fogarina in the VIVC catalogue ).
