patulin

From molds formed by metabolism mycotoxin (Fungal poison). Synonyms include giants, claviformin, clavacin, clavatin, expansin, leucopenin, mycoin, penantine and penicidin. The substance is mainly due to the fungus genera Aspergillus Byssochlamys and Penicillium educated. Moldy or from bunch rot affected grapes have an increased content of patulin.
