Paulinshofberger

single vineyard (also Paulins-Hofberger or Paulinshofberg) in the municipality of Kesten in the German Moselle wine-growing region (Bernkastel area). It was formerly owned by the monastery of St. Paulin from Trier, from which the name is derived. It lies in the vicinity of the Juffer vineyard in Brauneberg. The south to south-east facing vineyards with a slope of 20 to 60% cover 16 hectares of vineyards on stony, deep clay-slate weathered soils. Riesling is the main variety cultivated here. The Bastgen, äHaag Willi, Kees-Kieren and Paulinshof wineries , for example, have shares in the site.

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
