The winery is located in the municipality of Lieser (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region of Mosel. The family winery is run by Rudolf Pauly "with the knowledge of over 60 vintages". After studies and practice in wineries all over the world, son Axel has been responsible for the cellar since 2004. The vineyards cover 5.5 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Niederberg-Helden and Schlossberg (Lieser), as well as Kardinalsberg (Bernkastel-Kues). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Müller-Thurgau and Kerner, as well as the red wine varieties Spätburgunder, Frühburgunder and Dornfelder. The musts are fermented slowly and the wines remain on the lees for a long time. Depending on the desired wine style, they are matured in stainless steel tanks or in barriques. Noble sweet wines, bottle-fermented sparkling wines, semi-sparkling wines, noble brandies (pomace Riesling and Pinot Noir, fruit) liqueurs and wine jelly are also produced.
