The winery is located in Agios Panteleimon near the town of Amynteo 160 kilometers west of Thessaloniki in the appellation of the same name in the northern Greek region of Macedonia. The newly built plant was completed in October 2006 and belongs to the two Greeks George Pavlou and Vasilios Kagas, as well as the Italian-Canadian Alex Pulcini. Kagas is responsible for the vineyards, Pulcini is responsible for sales in North America. The vineyards comprise eight hectares of vines on sandy soil, mainly planted with the local red wine variety Xynomavro and Riesling. The Xynomavro vines have been selected from an organically managed vineyard and are between 15 and 75 years old. The product range includes two red wines, a rosé wine, a white wine and a bottle-fermented sparkling wine.
In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
