Pazeid

Old wooden vessel used in South Tyrol or hollow measure for various liquids and also for wine. The origin of the name is unclear, it is possibly derived from the Latin "Baccinum" (basin) or "Batioca" (large drinking bowl) or from the North Italian term "Bazia" (trough). The volume is 6 1/3 litres (4.5 measure), but in Val Gardena this is a measure of 50 litres. See also under hollow measures and wine vessels.
