Pazeid

Old wooden container or hollow measure used in South Tyrol for various liquids and also for wine. The origin of the name is unclear, it may be derived from the Latin "Baccinum" (basin) or "Batioca" (large drinking bowl) or from the northern Italian term "Bazia" (trough). The volume is 6 1/3 liters (4.5 measures), but in Val Gardena this is a measure of 50 liters. See also under capacity measures and wine vessels,
