DOC area (also Pentro) for red wines, rosé wines and white wines in the Italian region Molise, The name Pentro is derived from the ancient Pentrer tribe that once lived in this area. The zone includes the municipalities of Agnone, Belmonte del Sannio, Castelverrino, Colli a Volturno, Fornelli, Isernia, Longano, Macchia d'Isernia, Miranda, Montaquila, Monteroduni, Pesche, Pietrabbondante, Poggio Sannita, Pozzilli, Sant'Agapito and Venafro in the Province of Isernia. The vineyards are located in sunny hills at 500 to 600 meters above sea level. The Bianco is out Falanghina (80%), Trebbiano Toscano (15-20%), as well as other approved varieties (max. 5%). Rosso (also called Riserva ) and Rosato are out Montepulciano (75-80%), Tintilia = Tintilia del Molise (20-25%), as well as other approved varieties (max. 5%) blended.
