The winery is located in the municipality of Manacor on the Balearic island of Mallorca. It was founded towards the end of the 19th century by Pere Reus Morro, known as Pere Seda, and is now run by the fifth generation of the family. The vineyards cover 130 hectares of vines in the two municipalities of Manacor and Felanitx in the DO area of Plà i Llevant. They are planted with the red wine varieties Callet, Manto Negro, Cabernet Sauvignon, Macabeo, Merlot and Tempranillo, as well as the white wine varieties Moll (Prensal), Chardonnay, Muscat Blanc and Parellada. The flagship is "Pere Seda - Mossèn Alcover", blended from 40-year-old Callet vines (60%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) and aged for three months in barriques. The red wines "Pere Seda Crianza and Reserva" are blended from Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Manto Negro. L'Arxiduc Pere Seda" is available in red (Callet, Manto Negro, Tempranillo), rosé (Merlot, Tempranillo) and white (95% Parellada, Moscatel). Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. Around 650,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
For me, Lexicon from wein.plus is the most comprehensive and best source of information about wine currently available.
