Pergola (DOC)

DOC area for reds and rosé wines in the Italian region Brands, The area includes the municipalities of Fratte Rosa, Frontone, Pergola, San Lorenzo in Campo and Serra Sant'Abbondio in the province of Pesaro. The name derives from the town of Pergola, on their hills in 1234 the grape Aleatico in Pergola education planted and therefore called here Vernaccia di Pergola.

The wines are pressed with a major portion of Vernaccia di Pergola (Aleatico). There are the variants Rosso - also as Novello. Superiore and Riserva (60%), Rosato or Rosé - also as Frizzante and Spumante (60%), Aleatico - also called Superiore, Riserva, Spumante and Passito (85%).
