Perll August

The estate is located in the commune of Boppard in the German wine-growing region middle Rhine, The origin goes back to the main house built in 1606. The traditional 400-year-old family winery was operated as a sideline for a long time; it was not until 1950 that August Perll completely changed the mixed agricultural business to viticulture. The company is now run by his son Thomas, the sixth generation of the family. A wine bar is connected. The vineyards cover 7.5 hectares of vineyards in the Boppard Hamm in the individual layers Elfenlay, Fässerlay. Feuerlay. Mandelstein and Ohlenberg, They are planted to 80% with the Riesling, as well as the varieties Pinot Noir, Kerner, Pinot Blanc, Müller-Thurgau and Scheurebe. Fermentation takes place with pure yeast in stainless steel tanks. The wines are aged in the old vaulted cellar, one third each dry, semi-dry and mild, and bottled as early as possible. If the weather is suitable, ice wines are also pressed. Around 55,000 wines are produced annually. Fine spirits (yeast, grape, pomace, wine, plum) are also distilled in the house distillery.
