The white grape variety is a new cross between Bicane x Muscat d'Hamburg according to DNA analyses carried out in 2013. In a document from 1925, Muscat Madresfield Court (Black Morocco x Muscat d'Alexandrie) was given as the father variety. Synonyms are I.P. 54, Muscat Perlona and Pirovano 54. The cross was made in 1911 at the research centre in Rome by the breeder Alberto Piròvano (1884-1973). The late-ripening vine has a weak muscat tone. The variety is used as table grape. With the same parents, the new variety Italia was created.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
