Village appellation in the Burgundian Côte de Beaune area. The name of the best vineyard, "Les Vergelesses" (18 ha), which is shared with the neighbouring village of Savigny-lès-Beaune, is added to the village name of Pernand. Red wines are produced from Pinot Noir, as well as white wines from Chardonnay with some Pinot Blanc and Pinot Liébault. As an alternative appellation, Pernand-Vergelesse's Côte de Beaune can only be used for red wines. The Premier Cru sites cover around 60 hectares of vines. These are Les Vergelesses (also Basses-Vergelesses), En Caradeux, Clos Berthet, Clos Le Village, Creux de la Net, Creux de Pierre, Les Fichots, Ile des Vergelesses and Sous Frétille. The commune also has a share of 17 hectares in the famous Corton vineyard. Therefore, the Grand Cru appellations Corton (red wine) and Corton-Charlemagne (white wine) may be used (see under Aloxe-Corton). Well-known producers in the Pernand-Vergelesses appellation include Bonneau du Martray, Chandon de Briailles, Denis Père&Fils, Domaine Delarche, Domaine Dubreuil-Fontaine, Domaine Jacques Germain, Jadot, Louis Latour, Olivier Leflaive, Roger Raffelin and Rollin.
