The estate is located in the municipality of Treiso (province of Cuneo) in the Italian region Piedmont, The name derives from the district of Pertinace di Treiso, which in turn goes back to the Roman emperor Publius Helvius Pertinax (126-193). Around 650,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. Around 40% of this is exported mainly to the USA. The winery is a member of the wine associations Associazione Albeisa and Consorzio di Tutela Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe e Dogliani.
