Peter Pan Quality

A term commonly used in the English-speaking world to describe the special property of red wines in particular of still being "youthful" and fresh even after prolonged storage. This refers to Peter Pan, the main character in some children's stories by the Scottish writer James Matthew Barrie (1860-1937), who never grew up and thus symbolises "eternal youth". This is attributed, for example, to red wines from the Tannat grape variety.
