Petit courbu

The white grape variety originates from France. Synonyms are Courbis, Courbu Petit, Hondarrabi, Petit Courbu Blanc, Vieux Pacherenc and Xuri Zerratu. The parentage (parentage) is unknown. It should not be confused with the Courbu Blanc (Vieux Pacherenc) or Lauzet varieties due to seemingly suggestive synonyms or morphological similarities. This late-maturing, low-yielding vine is susceptible to botrytis. It yields aromatic, floral white wines with flavors of lemon and honey. The variety is permitted in southwest France in the areas of Béarn, Irouléguy, Jurançon and Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh. In Spain, it is grown in the Basque Country. However, in 2016, only one hectare of vines was designated in France; in 2010, there had been 102 hectares (Kym Anderson statistics).
