Peurion

The white grape variety comes from France. Synonyms are Blanc de Villemoyenne, Blanc Pinot, Co Doux, Gueuchette Blanc, Gueuchette Blanche, Lioneau, Lyonnais, Menu Blanc, Meslier Vert, Milleron, Milleron Troyen Blanc, Peurichon, Pouriette, Pourrisseux, Purion and Troyen Blanc. It must not be confused with the two varieties Meslier Saint-François (Meslier Vert) or Petit Meslier because of the synonym. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2013, this is one of the many presumably natural crosses between Gouais Blanc x Pinot. The vine is susceptible to botrytis. It was widespread in northeastern France before phylloxera and was greatly encouraged by Augustinian monks in the Franche-Comté area at the time. In 2016, no stocks were recorded (statistics Kym Anderson).
