Pfingstberg

One of the Alsace (Haut-Rhin) sites classified as Grand Cru within the Alsace Grand Cru appellation. Its origin dates back to 1299, when the Knight d'Epfig donated this area to the monastery in Colmar. The vineyards cover 28 hectares of vineyards on calcareous marl and loamy sandstone soil in the commune of Orschwihr. They are planted with Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Gris and Muscat Blanc. Well-known producers are Lucien Albrecht, François Braun, François Schmitt and Albert Ziegler.
