The estate is located in the municipality of Montan / Montagna in the Italian viticulture sector South-Tirol (Region Trentino-Alto Adige ). The traditional family has been involved in viticulture since 1861. Three generations work in the company with the following guiding principle: Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, working together leads to success . It is managed by Klaus and Monika Pfitscher. In 2011, a new winery was put into operation on the outskirts of the municipality, the construction being embedded in nature. From the tasting room you can enjoy a view of the South Tyrolean lowlands and the mountains. The way to the basement is different in color and ends in dark blue in the Blauburgunderkeller.
The vineyards cover 15 hectares of vineyards in the five municipalities of Auer, Kurtatsch, Montan, Neumarkt and Völs with different floors at up to 900 meters above sea level. The Tilt is up to 100% (45 °). You are with the white wines Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Bianco ( Pinot Blanc ) Müller-Thurgau. Gewurztraminer and Chardonnay, as well as the red wine Pinot Nero ( Pinot Noir ) and Lagrein planted.
The wines are called DOC South Tyrol depending on the type of wine in the steel tank, in Barrique or expanded in a large wooden barrel. Then they are sometimes stored in the bottle for a few months before being marketed. The "Superior" top line includes the red wines Pinot Nero Fuchsleiten (oak barrel), Pinot Nero Matan Riserva and Lagrein Riserva, the red wine cuvée Cortazo (every four to 15 months in small and large oak barrels), as well as the white wines Sauvignon Blanc Saxum and Gewürztraminer Rutter (both in the steel tank on the lees ).
