Numerous poets and thinkers have written philosophical treatises on wine and wine enjoyment. These included Anakreon, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Henri d'Andeli, Omar Khayyam and Nikolaus Lenau. Further examples can be found under the keywords customs in viticulture, country rules, toasts and quotations. In the work Satyricon by the Roman poet Gajus Petronius, which describes the customs of ancient Rome, wine is a central theme. The writer Béla Hamvas (1897-1968) is the author of the work "Philosophy of wine". See also under Ancient wines and drinking culture.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
