Pigato

The white grape comes from Italy, The name derives from the Ligurian dialect word pigà or pigau and refers to the spots on the berries. It is also mistakenly called Rossese Bianco but may not be confused with this variety. Pigato is in the grape variety catalog MIPAAF as an independent variety, but also as a variety ( mutation ) or as in Wine Grapes and in VIVC catalog as identical to the variety Vermentino designated. In the DOC regulations of Liguria are called both Vermentino and Pigato. In 2010, however, under the name Pigato no stock was reported (Kym Anderson ).
