Pigeon Shot Helmut

The winery is located in the municipality Poysdorf in the north of the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Weinviertel, The origins of the family business date back to the year 1670. Already in 1942 bottling began in Bouteillen. Today the company is run by Helmut and Monika Taubenschuss, actively supported by the sons Markus and Thomas. The vineyards cover 15 hectares of vineyards in the vineyards Hermann haggling, Maxendorf, Steinbergen, Tenn and White Mountain. They are planted with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Traminer, Green Sylvaner and Riesling. Special efforts are made to maintain the Leitzort Grüner Veltliner. The premium wines include several Weinviertel DAC (Grüner Veltliner) with different vineyard names, Pinot Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc. It also produces grape juice and bottle-fermented winemaker sects. The bottle label graces a white dove. The hotel also organizes wine-cultural events such as jazz and dixieland evenings, vernissages and photo galleries.
