Pinot Salomon

The red grape variety (also Black Elbling) probably comes from Germany, Synonyms are Elbling Black and Black Elbling. It is not allowed to use the independent variety Black Elbling be confused. According to done in 2013 DNA analysis it is a presumably natural cross between Pinot x Elbling, However, this is based on only 20 DNA markers (see under molecular Genetics ). The variety has no meaning; in 2010 no stock was reported (Statistics Kym Anderson ).
