The red grape variety is an interspecific new breeding between Kyoho x Muscat Cannon Hall (a mutation of Muscat d'Alexandrie). It contains genes from Vitis labrusca and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in Japan by the breeder Hideo Ikawa. It is mainly used as table grape, but also as wine grape. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
The Wine lexicon helps me to keep up to date and refresh my knowledge. Thank you for this Lexicon that will never end in terms of topicality! That's what makes it so exciting to come back often.
