Placomusophilie

Name for collecting (Greek philos = friend, preference / inclination for certain objects) at Sparkling wine bottles usual small metal capsules that are between Agraffe (Wire mesh) and cork are located. Through appropriate imprints these serve in French as "plaque de muselet" designated capsules as an advertising medium. Especially in France, there is a large collector scene of Champagne bottle caps, of course, especially very old brands are very sought after. The term is composed of "placomuso" and "philie". Placomuso is an artificial word made up of "plaque" and "muselet" (wire basket = agraffe).
