Plutzer

Austrian name (also Blutzer) for a wine vessel made of clay with a narrow neck and usually only one handle. The name is derived from the form (Mundlich Plutzer = head). Often he had a second hole next to the mouth for direct drinking, so that air could flow in while drinking. This vessel used to be a simple one Piquette (House drink) taken to the vineyard work.
