The white grape variety comes from Greece
from the island Crete
, Synonyms are Plito, Ploto, Pluto and Plytó. The medium-ripening vine is prone to the wrong people mildew
, as well as moderately against powdery mildew. It produces fresh white wines of moderate alcohol content with aromas of citrus, pear and grass
, The variety is grown in the east of the island of Crete in mixed vineyards. The endangered variety was reactivated by the Lyrarakis brothers on 1.5 hectares. In the meantime, it is cultivated again by several producers on around seven hectares (2011).
