Podarok Magaracha

The white grape variety is an interspecific new variety between Rkatsiteli x Magarach 2-57-72 (Mtsvane Kakhuri x Sochinsky Chernyi). Synonyms are Podarok Magaratcha and Podarok Magaratsch. There are genes of Vitis amurensis and Vitis vinifera included. The hybrid was crossed in 1966 at the Viticulture Institute Magarach in Crimea, Ukraine by P. Ya. Golodriga. The variety Pervenets Magaracha was created with the same parents. The early to medium ripening vine is frost resistant to minus 25 °Celsius and resistant to downy mildew. It produces neutral white wines, which are used for blending and distillation. It is cultivated in Moldavia, Russia (292 ha) and Ukraine. In 2016, stocks were only recorded in Russia (statistics Kym Anderson).
