The Slovakian ampelographer Ing. Dorota Pospíšilová (*1930) studied agriculture. She then worked at the Research Institute of Viticulture in Bratislava, where she devoted herself to vine breeding. She created a total of 24 wine grape and table grape varieties, which were included in the register of varieties. These included the seven Celtic varieties Dunaj, Hron, Nitranka, Rimava, Rudava, Torysa and Váh. In her book "Ampelografia Slovenska" she describes Central European grape varieties. In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
