The red wine comes from peninsula Peljesac northeast of Dubrovnik in Croatia and is named after the city of the same name. The terraced vineyards on the coast are exposed to many hours of sunshine. The deep red wine is sorted from overripe, semi-dried grapes of indigenous grape variety Plavac Mali vinified. See also below Dingac and Faros which are obtained from the same variety.
