The red wine comes from the Pelješac peninsula north-east of Dubrovnik in Croatia and is named after the town of the same name. The terraced vineyards on the coast are exposed to many hours of sunshine. The deep red wine is made from overripe, semi-dried grapes of the autochthonous Plavac Mali grape variety . See also Dingac and Faros, which are made from the same variety.
