Praelatenberg

One of the classified Grand Cru positions in the Alsace (Haut-Rhin) within the appellation Alsace Grand Cru, It was already mentioned in 823 and belonged to the prelate of the abbey of Ebersmunster. The vineyards cover 19 hectares of vineyards on heavy, siliceous soil in the two communities Kintzheim and Orschwiller. They are for the varieties Riesling. Pinot Gris. Gewurztraminer and Muscat Blanc equally well suited. Well-known producers are Jean Becker, Domaines Engel Frères and Domaine Siffert.
