The association of renowned Austrian producers of wine and spirits was founded in 2004. Its members are the five wineries Heinrich Gernot (Gols, Burgenland), Loimer Fred (Langenlois, Lower Austria) including Schellmann (Gumpoldskirchen, Lower Austria), Sattlerhof (Gamlitz-Sernau, Styria) and Wieninger (Vienna), as well as the vinegar and brandy producer Gölles (Riegersburg, Styria). Andreas Wickhoff (Master of Wine) acts as managing director and central contact person. He is partly involved in production, but mainly travels around the world and is responsible for the distribution of wines and spirits in around 30 countries. The focus is on developing and expanding the market in the new countries of the European Union as well as in the USA and the Asia-Pacific region. In the latter, the company is supported by wine journalist and wine critic Joel B. Payne.
Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
