Primus (wine)

In Austria Designation used in wine law (Latin primus = the first) for country wines and quality wines. In addition to "Primus", the terms "Primaner", "Erste", "Der Erste", "Der Junge", "Der Junge ...", "Der Neue" and "... Junker" may also be used. The wines designated in this way must be placed on the market no later than April 30 (March 31 was until 2017) of the year following the harvest. See also under young wine and Junker,
