Pröglhöf

The winery is located in the municipality of Obernalb Retz in the Lower Austrian wine region Weinviertel, It has been owned by the family since 1771. Today the company is owned by Johann and Roswitha Pröglhöf, son Markus is the cellar manager in charge. The vineyards cover 11 hectares of vines in the Raben Graben, Holzwege, Sonnleite and Speiser (Obermarkersdorf) on the slopes of the Manhartsberg. They are planted with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Malvasier ( Frühroter Veltliner ) and Chardonnay, as well as the red varieties Zweigelt, Blauburger, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Consistently natural, environmentally friendly viticulture is practiced. By processing the grapes as gently as possible, the varietal and character are emphasized. The white wines are aged in steel tanks. The red wines mature classically in large wooden barrels or in barriques. Count among the premium wines Weinviertel DAC (Grüner Veltliner), Grüner Veltliner Speiser, the red wine blend "Manhartsberg" (Zweigelt, Blauburger, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot) and Zweigelt Exclusive.
