Pröglhöf

The winery is located in the municipality Obernalb Retz in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Weinviertel, It has been owned by the family since 1771. Today, the company is owned by Johann and Roswitha Pröglhöf, son Markus is the responsible butler. The vineyards cover 11 hectares of vineyards in the vineyards Graben, Holzwege, Sonnleite and Speiser (Obermarkersdorf) on the slopes of Manhartsberg. They are planted with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Malvasier ( Frühroter Veltliner ) and Chardonnay, and the red varieties Zweigelt, Blauburger, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. It is practiced consistently close to nature, environmentally friendly viticulture. By gentle grape processing should the varietal and character are emphasized. The white wines are aged in steel tanks. The red wines mature classically in large oak barrels or barriques. Among the premium wines count Weinviertel DAC (Grüner Veltliner), Grüner Veltliner Speiser, the red wine cuvée "Manhartsberg" (Zweigelt, Blauburger, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot) and Zweigelt Exclusive.
