The large wine production company in Sion (Sion) in the canton of Valais was created between 1930 and 1932 from the merger of four smaller winegrowers' cooperatives. Today it is the largest wine producer in the canton and, with well over 5,000 members, the largest cooperative in Switzerland. Over 25 different grape varieties are processed in eight cellars in the Valais. The cellar capacity is 38 million litres of wine. Madeleine Gay is the responsible oenologist. Around 80 different wines are produced. The annual production is 10 million litres of wine. The top line is called "Maître des Chais" (cellar master), whose wines are mostly aged in barriques. The flagship wines are the white wine cuvée "Vieilles Vignes" blended from Ermitage (Marsanne), Amigne, Pinot Blanc and Heida, the red wine cuvée "Rouge d'Enfer" (red from hell) blended from Pinot Noir, Cornalin d'Aoste (Cornalin), Cornalin du Valais (Rouge du Pays) and Syrah, and the sweet wine "Grains de Malice" blended from Ermitage and Pinot Gris. Other lines are "Capsule Dorée", "Le Pichet" and "Domaines & Découvertes".
