The white grape variety originates from France. Synonyms are Annereau, Bests K, Blanc Pic, Canut, Chalosse Blanche, Confide, Eil de Tour, Jacquet, Jacquot, Menu Blanc, Millenc, Oeil de Sour, Oeil de Tour, Petouche, Prúera, Prunaley, Prunelat and Redondal Blanc. It is presumably a very old vine. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2021, it comes from a presumably natural cross between Savagnin Blanc (Traminer) x unknown parent variety. The variety is a parent of the Jurançon Blanc variety. No stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
