Quatourze

The appellation Languedoc-Quatourze is located in the southwest of the French wine growing region Languedoc. To the east lies the AOC La Clape. The former VDQS area was classified as AOC in 2011 and belongs to the second quality category "Grands Vins du Languedoc". The vineyards cover 80 hectares of vineyards on quartz pebble and sandstone soils. They are located around the commune of Narbonne in the department of Aude. The red wine is blended from at least 2 of the 3 main grape varieties Grenache Noir(Garnacha Tinta), Mourvèdre(Monastrell) and Syrah, as well as Carignan Noir(Mazuelo), Cinsaut and Llladon Pelut(Garnacha Peluda).
