Quiebratinajas Tinto

The red grape variety originates from Spain. Synonyms are Bernutxot Garnaxot, Colgadero, Colorada, Corazon de Cabrito Tinto, Crujillón, Leonada Tinta, Leonado, Quebrantatinajas, Quiebratinajas Negro and Teta Vaca Tinta. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2018, it comes from a presumably natural cross between Castellana Blanca x Breval Negro. However, according to another DNA analysis, the father variety could not be identified. The variety Quiebratinajas Rojo is a somatic mutation with pink berries. The variety is grown in small quantities in Andalusia, where it is used as a winepress and table grape. In 2016, nine hectares of vineyards were designated (Kym Anderson statistics).
